A potted selection of assorted culinary herb plants intended for home growing and regular harvest for cooking and garnishing. This collection of living culinary herb plants is supplied together in a single pot or tray for home growing and kitchen use. Typical assortments may include commonly used cooking herbs such as basil, parsley, chives, mint, rosemary or thyme, selected to provide a range of flavours for everyday meals. These mixed herb plantings are suited to patios, balconies, courtyards or sunny windowsills, making them practical for households wanting fresh herbs without a dedicated garden bed. Assorted herb mixes are generally chosen so that plants share similar light and watering needs, simplifying care for beginners. With appropriate light, watering and occasional harvesting, the assortment can provide a continuous supply of fresh leaves through the growing season.
Features
- Supplied as a living assortment of edible herb plants intended for ongoing growth and repeated harvest.
- Designed for outdoor containers, garden beds or bright indoor positions with good light, depending on the herb types included.
- Provides a variety of culinary flavours in one planting, suitable for garnishes, salads, sauces and cooked dishes.
- Herbs in mixed plantings generally prefer well drained, fertile soil or quality potting mix.
- Regular harvesting of the tips encourages bushier growth and helps maintain plant productivity.
- Suitable for home cooks, small-space gardeners and those starting an herb garden for the first time.
How To Use
- Place the mixed herb pot in a location that receives several hours of direct sunlight per day, or bright light appropriate for the included herb species.
- Water when the top layer of soil begins to dry, ensuring the pot has drainage so roots do not sit in water.
- Harvest small amounts by cutting or pinching sprigs and leaves above a leaf node, avoiding removing more than about one third of any plant at a time.
- Use harvested herbs fresh in cooking or garnishing, or dry or freeze surplus for later use.
- Apply a balanced, mild fertiliser to the potting mix occasionally during the main growing season if growth slows.
Contains
- An assortment of live culinary herb plants grown together in a single container or pack; specific herb varieties may vary by supplier and season.
Warnings
- For culinary use only; do not consume any plant material you cannot confidently identify as an edible herb.
- Some individuals may be sensitive or allergic to specific herbs; discontinue handling or consumption if irritation or adverse reactions occur.
- Keep pots out of reach of small children and pets that may dig in or chew plants or potting mix.
- Avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot and plant loss.
