Mepitel is a gentle, two-sided wound contact layer featuring Safetac technology, the original less-pain silicone adhesion layer. It is designed to conform softly to the skin without sticking to the moist wound, allowing for easy removal that minimises pain and skin damage. Its transparent design permits wound inspection without removal, supporting undisturbed healing for a wide range of wounds.

How To Use

Cleanse the wound according to standard clinical practice.
Thoroughly dry the surrounding skin.
Choose a dressing size that overlaps the wound margin by at least 2 cm. Mepitel can be cut to fit.
Remove the protective films from the dressing.
Apply the Mepitel layer directly over the wound.
Smooth the dressing onto the surrounding skin to ensure a good seal.
Apply a suitable absorbent outer dressing over Mepitel and secure it in place.

Warnings

Do not use Mepitel with oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide. When used on burns treated with meshed grafts or after facial resurfacing, avoid placing pressure on the dressing.
